Community foundation honors Child Advocacy Center

ESCANABA — The Community Foundation for Delta County announces the Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center is the highlighted non-profit organization for the month of April. The Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center fund is a fund held in the Community Foundation for Delta County, and one of the many benefits of a non-profit fund being held in our community foundation is the chance to be spotlighted as non-profit of the month.

“The Delta Regional CAC ensures children and families have the necessary services to heal from sexual assault and/or physical abuse. Our teams are dedicated to serving the most vulnerable population in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan through direct service, education, prevention, and creating community awareness. We offer a range of community partnership training in the areas of recognizing, preventing, and responding to child abuse and it is incredibly important to our mission to ensure the adults in our communities have the resources necessary to protect children,” said Kelly Chandler, program director of the Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center.

The Community Foundation for Delta County is able to help the community in so many ways, including partnering with non-profits. There is strength in numbers and one of the Community Foundation for Delta County’s goals is to help non-profits in Delta County. We are able to adapt and meet the ever-changing needs of the community and we are doing just that by partnering with Delta Regional Child Advocacy Center to help them have successful youth programs.

If you’re a non-profit and want to also partner with the foundation or want to learn more about what the community foundation offers, call (906) 786-6654 or stop in the foundation office at 2420 1st Avenue South, Escanaba.
