ESCANABA — At a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Edward J. Sackerson Charitable Foundation, the Trustees elected to award the sum of $121,675.50 to the following organizations: Holy Name School $66,921.53, St. Joseph / St. Patrick Church $4,867.02, Elks Major Projects $1,216.76

Wells Lions Club – Sight & Blind Fund $1,670.20, St. Vincent de Paul $12,000.00, Salvation Army $12,000, Community Action Agency Walk for Warmth $4,000

Community Action Agency / Foster Grandparents $1,000, Dept. Health Human Services – Gifts for needy kids and elderly $2,000, OSF Healthcare Liferides $500, EHS Boys Tennis $1,000.00, Escanaba youth wrestling $1,000.00, Delta County Cancer Alliance $3,000, Youth Assistance Program (YAP) $2,000.00, Special Olympics $2,000, Delta County Animal Shelter $2,000, Lakestate Industries $2,000, WNMU TV PBS $1,000, Masonville Township Fire Department – safety air packs $1,500.

Sackerson was a lifetime resident of Escanaba. The foundation is set up for the benefit of residents of Delta County.
