Library launches iPad lending program
ESCANABA — The Escanaba Public Library announces the launch of an iPad check-out program, expanding access to
computing and the internet to patrons beyond the library building. With this new program, patrons are invited to
“check out a tablet computer,” just as they would check out a book or other library resource. Patrons can use these
iPads for education, entertainment, and research purposes. Adults and teens (13 or over) with a library card in good standing are eligible for the program. iPads check
out for a seven-day period and there is no fee for the service. The devices provide access to the library’s digital online
resources, as well as to select pre-loaded educational apps. The library also circulates WiFi hotspots, which
borrowers may check out with the iPad to set up an internet connection. The Escanaba Public Library is located at 400 Ludington Street in downtown Escanaba. For details about this program, call 906-789-7333, visit the library’s web site at www.escanabalibrary.org or visit us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
