Escanaba library sets July Live on the Lawn events

ESCANABA — The summer series “Live on the Lawn” continues on Thursdays at 1 p.m. throughout July. With a variety of offerings, the library is encouraging the community to come out and enjoy the north lawn and memorial garden each week. The events include:

July 1 – History Walk to Sand Point Lighthouse, led by Mark Mackela, local historian and Delta County Historical Museum employee;

July 8 – Madison-based vocal duo “Awake for Birds” performing inventive originals and contemporary covers;

July 15 – Pop-Up Art: Jackson Pollack abstracts with the Bonifas Art Center’s Staci Berg;

July 22 – Beginning Swing Dance with dance instructor Nicole Nelson;

July 29 – Canterbury Tales book discussion on Local/U.P. history. Events will be held indoors in case of inclement weather, with the exception of the History Walk.
