West Shore Fishing Museum Open
MENOMINEE — West Shore Fishing Museum is open for the summer on Saturdays and Sundays through September 6.
The first event is the annual perennial plant sale on June 6 and 7 from 1:00 to 4:00, Central Time. Available will be: Siberian Iris, many cultivars of daylilies, Canna and Calla lilies, Rose Campion, Coral Bells, and a great variety of other local perennials.
Visit this unique indoor/outdoor homestead museum that focuses on the commercial fishing history of the West Shore of Green Bay. Admission is free; donations are welcome. The hours are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Central Time) or by appointment. The museum is located inside Bailey Park at N5146 M-35, 15 miles north of Menominee, Michigan.
This year, an extensive photo timeline has been added to the new Williams-Ruleau Visitor Center along with accompanying artifacts.
This unique site offers a chance to step back into history with experiences for visitors of all ages and interests. It has a restored home, two authentic display buildings, seven fishing vessels in two pavilions, a mile of wooded and shore trails, lovely gardens and grounds, and a unique vintage gift shop. It is an ideal place for a multigenerational family afternoon. Leashed dogs are welcome.
