Drive-by brat fundraiser planned for June 19
ESCANABA — June is Alzheimer’s Brain Awareness Month — an opportunity to hold a conversation about the brain, and share the fact that Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are a major public health issue. During the month of June, the Alzheimer’s Association® asks people around the world to wear Purple and use their brains to fight Alzheimer.
To support this awareness campaign, UP Health System Home Care and Hospice will be hosting a drive-by brat fundraiser June 19, donating all proceeds to the Abrahamson Memory Care – Adult Day Services Program.
The sale will include a brown bag lunch with a brat or hot dog, chips, and a bottled water. Information on Alzheimer’s will be in each bag along with a purple ribbon indicating support in the fight against Alzheimer’s. A $5 donation is requested for each brown bag lunch to go.
The fundraiser will take place on Friday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 901 S. Lincoln Road (adjacent to The Store Gas Station).
