RAPID RIVER — The “Avenue of Flags” installed by Walter W. Cole Post 301 of Rapid River each Memorial Day has sustained damage, due to three periods of extremely high winds.

These flags are casket flags donated or purchased by individuals or families in memory of their departed veteran loved ones.

It would be greatly appreciated if there is any family that has a flag they would like to donate, or anyone that would like to make a monetary donation toward purchasing new flags.

These flags cost $50 each and over 80% were damaged to some degree.
