Community Foundation awards spring grants

ESCANABA — The Community Foundation for Delta County announced the foundation’s spring grants round recipients. The following organizations receiving grants are:

– Bay Cliff Health Camp – COVID-19 Response Fund

– Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area – Mentoring Program

– Camp New Day UP – scholarships for children of the incarcerated

– Delta County Animal Shelter – COVID19 Emergency Pet Food Bank

– Delta County Rescue Task Force/Masonville Township EMS – equipment need for use by every EMS Agency in Delta County

– Delta County Regional Child Advocacy Center – equipment for on-site recording and management system

– Great Lakes Sports & Recreation Club – Youth Shooting Program

– Junior Market Livestock Committee – Junior Market Livestock Animal Scales for U. P. State Fairground

– Northern Lights YMCA – Strong Kids Campaign

– Pregnancy Services of Delta County – COVID19 additional resources needed in Delta County

– U. P. Steam & Gas Association – Salute to Freedom U. P. Military Museum wall printing and artwork

– Welcome Newborns – Child Abuse Prevention and Safe Sleep Project

– Care Free Dental Clinic of Delta County – Panoramic Digital Camera.

Pro-Active Grant:

– Bishop Noa Home for Senior Citizens – Automated External Defibrillator

“It is a privilege and honor to be part of an organization that is able to provide grants to a multitude of Delta County organizations that help make our area a better place for all,” said Community Foundation Board Chair Robert Van Damme.

“It is very rewarding to know what we do as a community foundation has such a positive impact for our residents,” said the foundation’s Grants Committee Chair Will Carne, Sr.
