Bay College offers new miner training

ESCANABA — Bay College Training and Development will be offering a 24-hour New/Inexperienced Miner Training in partnership with the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). This three-day “new miner” training covers all aspects of the initial training requirements for owners and operators under 30 CFR Part 48 & 30 CFR Part 46. The objective is to train new and inexperienced miners on safety and health hazards, employee rights and responsibilities, and job-related safety procedures. Important topics such as fall protection, confined space, and personal protective equipment will be covered. This course satisfies the MSHA classroom requirement for new/inexperienced miner training.

The MSHA 24-Hour New/Inexperienced Miner training will be offered on Feb. 19, 20, and 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the M-TEC building on the Bay College campus in Escanaba.
