Local participants in #give906 announced
ESCANABA — From Ironwood to Pickford and everywhere in-between, nonprofit organizations are hoping to kick off the giving season on a strong note. GivingTuesday, a global day of generosity, takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, it is Tuesday, Dec. 3.
A number or organizations in Delta County have registered projects on give906.org, the Upper Peninsula’s GivingTuesday directory.
Participating organizations include:
New Life Community Center
New Life Community Center will have a social media blast to raise funds and awareness of the Community Center. NL Community Center is an environment that is family-friendly and community-minded. The children’s zone consists of three play areas, snack and coffee bar with seating, and restrooms. The children’s zone will be open to the community, free of charge from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. The high school size gym is ideal for community basketball games, volleyball games, children’s gatherings and with a 448 sq./ft. kitchen attached, the gym will work great for social gatherings.
Tri County Safe HarborTri County Safe Harbor has recently launched a capital campaign to raise money to build a new shelter. They have outgrown their current location and need a bigger space to better serve their clients.
United Way Delta County United Way of Delta County is hosting a Facebook Fundraiser for their Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, with a goal of $500.
Donors and volunteers that participate in any #give906 campaign are encouraged to use #give906 on social media to share how they gave locally.
