ESCANABA — A building on Danforth Road sustained heavy smoke and water damage after a fire Saturday.

Escanaba Public Safety Department were called to the building at 2601 Danforth Road for a fire at 10:01 p.m. Saturday.

Officers said when they arrived on scene, heavy flames were coming from the southwest corner of the building.

Two attack lines were deployed and the fire was knocked down quickly, according to police.

Officers remained on scene for two hours.

EPSD said the building sustained heavy smoke and water damage. No injuries were reported.

Escanaba Public Safety Department was assisted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Department, Rampart, Escanaba City Electric, DTE and the Delta County Central Dispatch Center.
