ESCANABA — Students and staff from Midwest Truck Driving School, based in Escanaba, recently took to the highways as part of their ongoing commitment to community service, cleaning up a six-mile stretch of US 41.

The school has participated in the Adopt-a-Highway program for more than five years. On May 13, participants collected trash, debris and litter along their assigned section of US 41, helping to keep local roads cleaner and safer for everyone.

“We believe in leaving every place better than we found it,” said Kyle Barron, director of admissions at Midwest Truck Driving School. “This stretch of highway is important to our area, and our students are proud to give back while learning the value of responsibility and hard work.”

Midwest Truck Driving School integrates community involvement into its training programs. The annual Adopt-a-Highway effort not only beautifies the region but also reinforces the professional standards expected of commercial drivers — safety, reliability and respect for the roads they travel.

This repeated effort highlights how local businesses and training programs can play a positive role in preserving the Upper Peninsula.

Starting at $3.50/week.
