Chamber Holiday Shopping Excursion scheduled Dec. 8

ESCANABA — The annual Chamber Holiday Shopping Excursion is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8. It will begin early with departure at 8:45 a.m. from the Antique Village in the U.P. Fairgrounds.

Guests on the excursion will be treated to mimosas, fruit and cheese on the bus as they begin the trip. First stop will be Lakestate’s Rustic Room, then Yooper Designz on the way to Gladstone. Once in Gladstone stops at Frame Farm, Brampton Bike & Ski, Trotter’s Floral and Gladstone Square Pharmacy will all have specials for participants.

Boarding the bus again guests will be taken to Northern Sun Winery for a wine tasting, then a stop at Country Roads on the way into Escanaba. Upon arrival in Escanaba, lunch will be served at Hereford and Hops and then on to Leighs Garden Winery for another wine tasting. In that block shoppers will have stops at Northcoast Apparel, Nyman’s Jewelry and Canterbury Bookstore.

Continuing down Ludington Street Shoppers will visit East Ludington Gallery, Northern Screen Printing, The Morrison Shop, Wickert Floral, Mr Bike & Ski, Tebear Sewing & Quilting, Positively! The Center for Success, Pam’s Petals, Lisa Ann, Sayklly’s Confectionery and Oliva Bean & Company.

The tour ends back at the Antique Village where Christmas in the Village will be in full swing.

Special incentives, discounts and gifts will be offered at nearly all the participating chamber member businesses. “With a wide variety of stops, shoppers should be able to find that something special for everyone on their gift list,” organizers stated in a press release.

Space is limited, so an early reservation is recommended. Pick up will be in the U.P. State Fairgrounds at Christmas in the Village, at 8:45 a.m. with drop off planned around 4:30 p.m.

There is a fee to take part and includes transportation, two wine tastings and lunch. Reservations can be made by calling the Delta County Chamber of Commerce at 906 786-2192 or online at Deltami.org.
