Micheau is vice-president of fair group

ESCANABA — At its 135th annual convention in Grand Rapids, board of directors of the Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions elected Vickie Micheau as vice-president for the 2020-21 term, which began on Jan.

“I am humbled and honored by the responsibility I have been given by the MAFE membership. I look forward to contributing to the Association’s ongoing commitment to promote the development of agriculture and related industries, coordinate the objectives of fairs and exhibitions across the state, inform and educate our members, and encourage the participation of youth in these endeavors,” said Micheau.

Micheau was elected for a three-year term as a director at large by the regular membership at the 2019 annual meeting. She will serve on the MAFE executive committee and a member of the legislative, convention workshops for professional development, and banquet committees.

While Micheau is responsible for representing all members of MAFE, in carrying out her leadership duties as part of the U.P. State Fair management team, her involvement with the state-wide organization will ensure that the issues of importance to Upper Peninsula fairs are addressed.

The 2020 Upper Peninsula State Fair is scheduled for Aug. 17 – 23.
