ESCANABA — OSF HealthCare St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group welcomes Wendy Frye, MD to its medical staff.

Specializing in general surgery, Dr. Frye treats various conditions, including gallbladder disease, breast issues and cancer, hernias, acid reflux, skin lesions and colon problems, such as diverticulitis and colon cancer.

A native of the Upper Peninsula, Dr. Frye’s journey into medicine began at Northern Michigan University where an advisor noticed her interest in science. Intrigued by the service aspect, challenges and continuous learning available in health care, she ultimately decided to become a surgeon.

She received her bachelor of science degree from Northern Michigan University and her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
