Rapid Readers plans to meet Oct. 8

RAPID RIVER — The October meeting of Rapid Readers is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River. Since the group has had prior commitments, vacations, business, and the COVID-19 threat, there are several books up for discussion. The most current, easiest in rhythm and tone, “House at the Edge of Night” by C. Bonner should lead the list. Then “The Huntress” by Kate Quinn, followed by “The Great Leader” by Jim Harrison.

A list of choices for the January through June reading list will be posted on the group site or can be e-mailed to members who are not on-line. The novel “No Higher Honor Washington” by Conde Lisa Rice is on the list for Nov. 12, and “Song of Solomon” by Toni Morrison is planned for Dec. 10. Of course, any suggestions/choices from members can easily be added. Let Peg know via the group page or by phone 428-9668, if you have favorites.

A reminder that masks are required to enter Jack’s. Questions can be directed to Peg Netchey at 428-9668.
