Daily Press file photo
The following piece was published April 14, 1971.
Taking advantage of the spring thaw in the city, these three youths manage to get in a little boating by hitting the “high seas” in a vacant lot north of the New Jefferson School. The young sailors are, left to right, Ricky Ness, 1807 16th Ave S, and Steve and Pat Geurls, 1710 S 18th St. The stowaway being held by Pat is named “Snoopy.”
