Elks Red Shirt Night

“p2″>ESCANABA — The Elks Club will hold a Ladies “Red Shirt” Steak Night on Saturday, Nov. 9. Cocktails start at 5 p.m. with dinner  from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be prizes and fun throughout the evening.

Radio society to meet

ESCANABA — The Delta County Amateur Radio Society (DCARS) will hold it’s monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. The location is the Statewide Realty building at 2015 1st Ave N. in Escanaba.

Anyone with an interest in ham radio is welcome.

Game and card event to benefit Gladstone library

GLADSTONE — The Friends of the Gladstone Library is holding its Fall Game/Card Party on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The event will be at the First Lutheran Church Hall, 1212 Minneapolis Avenue, Gladstone. There will be raffles and door prizes as well as pies for desert.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the library or Friends of the Library. All proceeds help to support Gladstone Library. If you would like to reserve a table, call 906-428-4224.

Animal shelter sale

ESCANABA — The Annual Animal Shelter Rummage Sale is coming to the U.P. State Fairgrounds Oct. 25 through 27, with donated items to be sold collected Oct. 21 through 24.

Rummage sale items can be dropped off Monday, Oct. 21 through Thursday,

Oct 24 at the Miracle of Life building on the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and between 6 and 8 p.m. Clothes, linens, shoes or old electronics will not be accepted, nor will items that are not resalable.

The sale opens for business on Friday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. and runs till 8 p.m. It will continue Saturday, from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Anyone that comes in costume will have a chance to win the door prize.

The rummage sale is organized by and will benefit the Delta Animal Shelter.
