Dance in Rock

ROCK — A dance will be held at the Rock Community/Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Mapleridge Road, on Sunday, Aug. 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by Ron Jay & the Country Strangers. There is a door cost and a free will donation lunch. Gladstone Lions Club raffle winners

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Lions Club once again held its annual fundraisers for the Club’s Community Service Fund at the City of Gladstone 4th of July Community Celebration in Van Cleve Park. The club held a raffle and hosted a beer tent. The raffle winners are:

Bob Skellenger — $1000    

Rajaia — $300

Dennis Nelson — $125

Ian Pelter — $50 (donated back to club)

Stormie Alwood — $25

All of the income the club receives from fundraisers must go back to the community for local causes. Annually, the club donates approximately $20,000 to the community.

Delta County Township Association picnic

WELLS — The Delta County Townships Association is holding their annual picnic on Thursday, July 25, at the Pioneer Trail Park Pavillion.

The potluck dinner starts at 6 p.m. Bring a dish to pass.

St. Charles pasty sale

RAPID RIVER — St. Charles Church in Rapid River will be selling pasties on Tuesday, July 29. Pasties are available with or without rutabaga and cost $5 each.

First UMC bake sale

ESCANABA — First United Methodist Church, 302 S 6th St., will be holding a bake sale on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pies, cookies, bread and more will be available.
