MARSP Christmas lunch

MANISTIQUE — MARSP welcomes retired school personnel to its Christmas Luncheon on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the 40 Bar and Grill, located at 100 South 2nd Street in Manistique.

Social hour begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served promptly at noon. Musical entertainment will be provided.

Members are reminded to bring a wrapped gift for the gift exchange. Gifts are to be from the member’s home and something the giver isn’t using anymore. No named need to be attached to the gifts.

Members are also asked to bring a paper product and/or hygiene item to be distributed to local food pantries.

Members from Schoolcraft County and eastern Delta County are welcome. Call Ruth at 906-283-2309 with any questions.

Legion breakfast Dec. 18

GLADSTONE — The American Legion Post 71 of Gladstone will be hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast on Dec. 18, the third Sunday of the month. Food will be served from 9 a.m. to noon.

Blue Christmas event

ESCANABA — Blue Christmas, a free community event for those dealing with loss or grieving this Christmas season, will take place Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Heirman Joseph University Center at Bay College in room 952.

Anyone affected by loss is welcome to attend the event, where ways to celebrate the season despite grief and move forward with hope will be discussed.

The event is sponsored by the Delta County Victim Service Unit.
