Gladstone Library ­summer reading

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Public Library’s summer reading program, “Oceans of Possibilities,” will run June 8 through Aug. 3. The program is open to those from two years old to 12th grade, and all participants must be registered.

The library kicks off its summer reading program on Wednesday, June 8 with a book walk starting at 10:30 a.m. at the library. Children and families are encouraged to come to the library to follow the book walk signs and read the book “Way Down Deep in the Deep Blue Sea” by Jan Peck. Participants will receive a goodie bag containing a craft and a snack.

Call 428-4224 or stop by the library to register and pick up your reading logs.

The summer reading program is sponsored by The Friends of the Library, Community Foundation for Delta County, and local clubs and businesses.

Karaoke at AMVETS

ESCANABA — AMVETS Post 123 will host karaoke, with disc jockey services provided by “KJ Karaoke,” on May 21. Doors open at 7 p.m.

MARSP to meet June 7

ESCANABA — The monthly meeting of the Delta County Chapter of MARSP will be held at noon, on June 7 at the Highland Golf Club.

The guest speaker will be Steve Parks, explaining the drug court, an innovative idea to address the problems of drugs in the community in an effort to reduce crime.

NSDAR meeting June 11

ESCANABA — The Onagomingkway Chapter, NSDAR, will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, June 11, from noon until 3 p.m. EDT at the Hereford and Hops Restaurant, 624 Ludington St. in Escanaba. The meal will be a la carte.
