Three drivers tear away from the staring line during a modified Class 4 cross country race during the Rapid River Snowmobile Championship in Feburary of 1970. The snowmobile still sitting back at the starting line belonged to Bob Heynessens of Escanaba, who, believe it or not, finally got started and finished second in the heat, a close two seconds behind Mike VanDamme (third from the left).
