Friends of the Library ice cream giveaway

ESCANABA — This year, in lieu of the Friends of Escanaba Public Library’s Annual Ice Cream Social, the Friends will be present at the Escanaba City Band concert on Wednesday, June 16 at 7 p.m. in Ludington Park and will be giving out coupons good for a free ice cream cone from Jim’s Dairy Cream. Only one coupon will be given per person.

The Garden Peninsula Historical Society

GARDEN — The Garden Peninsula Historical Society will open on June 18. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday through Sunday. Appointments can be made for those unable to visit on those days by calling Brenda Tibbetts at 906-644-7609.

Names are being accepted for the Honoree Dinner, which will be held on Sept. 19 at the Garden Community Building. The dinner honors all past and present residents of the Garden Peninsula who have reached 80 years of age. Please submit names to brendatibbetts69@gmail.com or call the number listed above.
