POWERS — North Central High School held its annual National Honor Society induction on Friday, Oct. 23. The ceremony was conducted virtually via Zoom from the high school and students’ homes. Inductees included early admission sophomores Katrina Borucki, Luke Gorzinski, Carley Naser, Jesse Sampson, and Ashtyn Smith. Junior inductees were Dominic Naser and Trenton Naser.

In order to be selected as a member of the North Central chapter of NHS, students need to portray the four pillars of National Honor Society: character, scholarship, leadership and service. Early admission sophomores require at 3.5 GPA, while juniors and seniors must maintain a 3.3. All students who are eligible solely based on GPA are given an application letter. After applications are submitted and interviews are held, a faculty council of five teachers meet to vote on students for membership.

North Central NHS hopes to hold the traditional in person induction ceremony when restrictions allow them to do so.

North Central’s chapter of NHS is advised by K-12 art teacher Emily Westphal. More photos and the virtual ceremony can be viewed at www.artofthejets.weebly.com/nhs.
