Historical society keeps museum closed

GARDEN — The Garden Peninsula Historical Society has decided not to open the Schoolhouse Museum this summer because of the COVID-19 virus. The Honoree Dinner, scheduled for September, has also been canceled.

Lisa Chase named Teacher of the Year

BREVARD — Brevard Public Schools, of Viera, Fla., has announced the Apollo Elementary Teacher of the Year is Lisa (McKnight) Chase.

Chase has taught at Apollo Elementary for 21 years, and with Brevard Public Schools 26 years. Chase is currently teaching sixth grade reading and math. She is the daughter of Richard and Marilyn McKnight of Gladstone.
