Remember When?

Courtesy photo It was 80 years ago this month that Tally Poquette and Marie Shandonay were crowned King and Queen of Gladstone’s 1940 Winter Carnival. A letter from Congressman Bradley was sent in recognition of the event. The day was complete with an official ceremony and procession in a horse drawn sleigh. By all appearances, it was a fun-filled day, proving that winter can indeed be fun in Michigan.
