Free line dancing class

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone Senior Center offers free line dancing classes each Friday morning. Beginners meet at 9 a.m., and the regular class is held from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Veterans service ­officer sets office hours

HERMANSVILLE — Menominee County Veterans Service Officer Mike Dellisse will be holding office hours Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Floriano-Stecker-Kelly American Legion Hall in Hermansville.

Veterans or widows that need assistance with the Veterans Administration, claims with the Administration, Agent Orange, headstones, grave-markers, or information on the Oscar Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain should see Dellisse on visit to Hermansville. Dellisse can also answer questions about the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund for Menominee County.

Legion Post 115 to meet

FLAT ROCK — The monthly meeting of Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 and Auxiliary will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Dance in Rock Feb. 9

ROCK — There will be a dance at the Rock Senior Center, located at 3892 W. Maple Ridge Rd, on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. Live music will be provided by Ron Jay and the Country Strangers.

There is a cost to attend the dance and lunch will be available for a free-will donation.

Onagomingkway DAR

MARQUETTE — The Onagomingkway Chapter, DAR, will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Feb. 8 from noon until 3 p.m. at the Marquette Big Boy Restaurant, 1950 US-41 W, Marquette. Members should plan on ordering a meal.

Cornell seniors meet

CORNELL — Cornell Township Hall Seniors meet the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting will be held Feb. 6. Lunch will be at noon, and attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass. There will be a small bingo gift for those who want to play.

U.P. Sing Off Feb. 15

NAHMA — Due to the inclement weather on Jan. 18, the 4th Annual U.P. Sing Off will be held at the Nahma Inn Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 pm.

Singers must be at least 18 years old and have their own karaoke CD. Singer registration is payable at 6:30 p.m. that evening. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded. Call Mary at 906-474-6109 or 906-420-0610.

Mystery box and basket drawings will also take place during the event.

The Sing Off is sponsored by the Isabella Community Hall committee for ongoing restoration projects.

Rapid Readers meet

RAPID RIVER — The Feb. 13 Rapid Readers discussion of Maxwell King’s “The Good Neighbor” begins at 10 a.m. at Jack’s Restaurant in Rapid River. New members are welcome.

“The Cuckoo’s Calling,” by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling), is novel for the Thursday, March 12 discussion.

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone High School Class of 1970 is holding a 50-year class reunion meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. at 1204 Lake Shore Drive, Gladstone. All classmates are encouraged to attend.
