Legion Post 115, Auxiliary to meet

FLAT ROCK — The monthly meeting of Escanaba River American Legion Post 115 and Auxiliary will be held at the Escanaba Township Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

St. Anthony calendar raffle winners named

WELLS — St. Anthony Church has announced the calendar raffle winners for January are Ashton Bengry – $75, Amy Deiter – $60, and Nolan VanDamme – $50. Kay Thompson-Vanders, G. Wiltzius, Katie Gereau and Nick Scheeneman each won $25.

Elks Auxiliary to meet

ESCANABA — The Elks Auxiliary will hold their February meeting on Thursday, Feb. 6. Social hour is at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting to follow.

Esky Class of 1970 planning meeting

ESCANABA — The Escanaba Area High School Class of 1970 will hold a reunion meeting at Mo’s Pub on Feb. 3 at noon. All classmates are welcome to attend.

St. Thomas breakfast

ESCANABA — St. Thomas Church, located at 1820 9th Ave. North, Escanaba, will hold a breakfast Sunday, Feb. 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is welcome. There is a fee for the breakfast.

Cornell seniors to meet

CORNELL — Cornell Township Hall Seniors meet the first Thursday of the month. The next meeting will be held Feb. 6. Lunch will be at noon, and attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass.

There will be a small bingo gift for those who want to play.

Mill retirees to hold meeting Wednesday

ESCANABA — The Mill Retirees group will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at the Union Hall on Sheridan Road at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided and there will be a 50/50 drawing.

All mill retirees are invited to attend. The group meets the first Wednesday of every month.

Taco Tuesday returns

GLADSTONE — Taco Tuesday is back at the Gladstone American Legion Post 71. Serving is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

The events are held at Gladstone American Legion Auxiliary Unit 71, 802 Delta Ave., in Gladstone.

Lenten breakfast event returns Feb. 22 in Esky

ESCANABA — The Annual Lenten Breakfast and Musical Program at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 600 South Lincoln Road in Escanaba, will be held Saturday, Feb. 22. Breakfast will be served at 9:15 a.m. with the program starting at 10 a.m.

The theme is “Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” In addition to soloists, the Rock-Perkins Area Cantata Choir will be participating this year.

The speaker will be Reverend Dennis Meyette.

Seating for the breakfast is limited to 200, but program seating is unlimited. Call for your breakfast reservation by Feb. 19 to 786-6771 or 233-1857.

Nursery care will be provided upon request.

A free-will donation for the breakfast and musical program will be received at the program. The ILCW will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Welcome Newborn Program at St Francis Hospital.
