Too much time on two issues

EDITOR: You ever wonder why people get jaded and frustrated in regards to government? Take our city council - please. Between the North Shore Development and the legal pot sales, these people couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag with contacting two lawyers, several consultants and they, the council, wonders why their meetings are not better attended. I would not be able to keep my mouth shut. I was president of, and ran a board of directors in Waikiki. When the board had a consensus, we moved forward. A consensus/majority didn't always make everyone happy. We rarely went ...

Support for commissioners

EDITOR: I would like to strongly support two local candidates in this election for county commissioner. Theresa Nelson and John Malnar are very loyal commissioners and are very dedicated to the work at the county. They are committed to the community by attending all assigned committee meetings as well as regular monthly board meetings. Theresa and John's passion, devotion and loyalty to Delta County and the people they serve is unmatched by any of their opponents. Both of these candidates are irreplaceable and I ask for your support in making sure they maintain their seat to ...

On Tuesday, July 26th, an opportunity was given for local and state officials, as well as The Daily Press and TV6, to tour The Lofts on Ludington as an example of a successful brownfield redevelopment in downtown Escanaba. Members of Escanaba’s city administration, city council, planning commission, brownfield board, and the DDA, as well as the Delta County Commission, the MEDC, and EGLE attended and enjoyed visiting with ...

Candidate support

EDITOR: In the August primary election I am endorsing the following candidates for the Delta County Board of Commissioners, Bob Barron, Dave Moyle, and John Denholm. They are real advocates of private property rights and fair treatment of all Delta County residents. In the race for the 108 District House seat Dave Prestin is a person with strong U.P. values that would represent our concerns and fight for the U.P. and what our values are.
