Annual Life Chain returns

EDITOR: Again, this year, Delta County Right to Life is sponsoring the annual Life Chain this coming Sunday, October 2. It will be held on North Lincoln Road, Escanaba, between Burger King and Taco Bell. This is a prayerful, peaceful event where pro-lifers of all ages line up along the route on each side of Lincoln Road with signs promoting the value of life at all stages. Right to Life Delta County is encouraging all who are supportive to join us from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday to hold signs (all prepared for you) along the route. EDITOR: Matthew Peltin, Letter to the Editor, Saturday, Sept. 24. I also despise the fact that the democrat party wants so many illegals into this country. It is beyond understanding. I thought the Martha's Vineyard scenario brought it to more people. I still think you would have to look long and hard to find a lot of people in this area who know anything about the border, which brings me to my other point, marijuana. It was on the ballot. EDITOR: Surveillance cameras to protect flowers - really? The streets throughout the city are beyond bad. We have an old logging road behind our home that's easier to ride on then the Escanaba city streets. Governor Whitmer ran on fixing the roads, give her a call. EDITOR: There is something I don't understand. We have a southern border that seems to be wide open to anyone willing to cross a river. Drugs beyond comprehension coming into our country. Now, we are excited about seeing how many old store fronts can be filled with marijuana shops. This is nuts as far as I'm concerned, all in the name of getting a few bucks in tax revenue. No disrespect was intended

EDITOR: Dear Escanaba Football Fans, My name is Coach Dave Mathieu, and I would like to clear up a misunderstanding. After the post game handshake I directed our team away from midfield and down to the end zone where we warmed up. After the fireworks, we looked for our students and fans so we could sing our fight song to them. Singing the school song to our fans is a tradition we practice win or lose. Candidate endorsement

EDITOR: I am writing this letter as an endorsement of incumbent candidate Theresa Nelson as Delta County Commissioner for District 3. The recent redistricting in Delta County has led to a situation where there are now two incumbent candidates opposing each other for this position. It would be a shame to lose such a beneficial member of the county commission under these circumstances. I have known Theresa Nelson personally for well over 40 years.
