Southern border
EDITOR:
Matthew Peltin, Letter to the Editor, Saturday, Sept. 24. I also despise the fact that the democrat party wants so many illegals into this country. It is beyond understanding. I thought the Martha’s Vineyard scenario brought it to more people. I still think you would have to look long and hard to find a lot of people in this area who know anything about the border, which brings me to my other point, marijuana. It was on the ballot. I voted against it. I urged a lot of people to vote against it. Some of the people I have dealt with that don’t like the pot sales, didn’t vote, either way. I remember that election and less than 50% of possible voters, voted. So now we are stuck with it being legal. People and businesses have done an okay job getting businesses into the empty store fronts. Considering the “pandemic” and the stupidity of shutting the economy down, I think we are doing okay.
I do not believe that these marijuana stores are going to be “hotbeds of illicit activity.” First off, a $5,000 non-refundable application fee and then $5,000 a year. If you were to watch what they do at Lume and also at Firestation at the casino, you would see that they run a pretty clean operation. Both of them. Talk to law enforcement. The shops are not where the meth, heroin, cocaine and fentanyl are coming from. It’s coming straight from the southern border.
Most, if not all of the problems that are happening in this country today, are because of those that have been elected. And those who could fight what is happening, have just given up. We need new blood. We need people that are going to stand on principal, stand on law and order, stand on the Constitution. We need everyone to vote. November 8. Vote. GOP elect Tudor Dixon, Ed McBroom, Matthew Deperno.
