Airport and commissioners

EDITOR: On Monday, January 16 I attended the Delta County Airport board meeting via Zoom where I heard the airport manager explain an ongoing problem. An FAA controlled weather reporting system has sensor issues causing it to be unreliable and the parts to fix it don’t even have a lead time from a manufacturer overseas. In the past, prior to these systems, airports were able to have staff attend training to become certified weather observers. Spending concerns

EDITOR: During the election season, Commissioner Moyle was questioned on his lack of attendance. He repeatedly stated on social media he was not attending his monthly board/committee assignments because each time he did, he was paid a stipend ($20-$45 I believe) and in the best interest of the county he did not go because he wanted to save taxpayers money and he could just be informed via email what had been discussed. EDITOR: January 22, 2023 will mark a tragic anniversary in our country when the Roe vs. Wade ruling became a law in our country declaring war on the unborn. It made abortion legal and responsible for the killing of our 62 million innocent unborn babies. Even though this ruling was revised the killing and death of unborn babies still continues in Michigan. EDITOR: Recently, U.S. Representative Peter De Fazio (D-OR) introduced H.R. 8005 and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) introduced S. 4365 entitled the Social Security Expansion Act, which affords recipients an 8.7% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) raise in their monthly payments starting in January of 2023.
