Firefighters extinguish a barn fire at 3774 18th Road on Ryan and Marie Sundberg’s property in Wells Township Tuesday afternoon while horses graze in the field nearby. The structure was engulfed in flames when Escanaba Public Safety responded to the emergency at around 2:30 p.m. Assisting agencies included Escanaba Township and Ford River Township volunteer fire departments, Michigan State Police, Rampart Emergency Medical Services and Delta County Central Dispatch. No persons or animals were injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is undetermined, police said this morning.
