School X-Country
ESCANABA — Practice for the new Holy Name Cross Country program began on Monday.
For those interested in joining the team, practices are being held at 9 a.m. at Ludington Park.
Irish Oaks ladies
GLADSTONE — Robin Schwartz shot 40 to lead the Oaks Ladies League Monday in Gladstone.
Pat DeGrave, Karen McCorkle and Sally Erkkila all had 42 were tied for second.
The remaining under 50 scores were Rosie Spindler and Debbie Peterson 44, Jami Pond 45, Holly Canull, Sue Cossette, Denise Porath, Cheryl Kamin and Morgan Whitehead 46, Mary Clement, Pattie Kivioja and Mary Bergman 47, Krystal Robinette and Judi LaCosse 48, and Dee Cavadeas and Joyce Sheedlo at 49.
GGC senior men
GLADSTONE — Kelly Shea led the Gladstone Golf Club Senior Men’s League this week with a score of 68.
Steve Bratonia 70 and Scott Neurohr 73 followed in second and third.
The rest of the under 80 scores were Mark Hager and Wayne Marshall at 75, Bill Swartz, Kim Clouse at 77, Gary Micheau, Jeff Bratonia and Dale Hongisto 78 and Dick Pepin, Benny Wells and Pete Stropich at 79.
Korey Smith carded 31 to lead the 9-hole league with Larry Bratonia 35 and Joe Kallio 38 behind.
Hole in one
GLADSTONE — Sharron Stephenson hit a hole in one on hole 14 at the Terrace Bluff Member Appreciation Tournamnet in Gladstone this weekend.
This was her first hole in one.
