Wildlife Unlimited groups partner for raffle

ESCANABA — Wildlife Unlimited of Delta County, Wildlife Unlimited of Dickinson County and Wildlife Unlimited of Iron County have come together again to promote their organizations, wildlife preservation and ongoing habitat efforts with a joint fundraising raffle.

The three organizations have partnered to raffle off a John Deere 1025 utility tractor with attachments and a four-person sauna to raise awareness of the activities each of them do within their respective counties and help to raise funds to continue to provide improved wildlife management and habitat efforts for local outdoorsmen.

“While we are each independent entities, we share a common goal to promote the long term sustainability of wildlife and habitat in our communities,” said Kevin Kramer, WU of Dickinson County board member. “By pooling our resources, we can offer a large item raffle of this nature… something none of us could do independently.”

“These are a couple of incredible prizes,” said Terry Wanic, WU of Delta board member. “We are pleased that all three wildlife groups can again work together to bring a raffle of this magnitude to local outdoorsmen.”

The first prize is a John Deere 1025 sub-compact 18 horsepower utility tractor with a front loader, mid-mount mower and a rotary tiller purchased from Kingsford Ace Hardware in Iron Mountain. Second prize is a six-foot, four-person barrel sauna with stove purchased from The Sauna Guys in Pelkie, Mich.

“The expenses of this raffle will be shared between the three organizations, and the profits of the raffle will also be shared so that each county may benefit from their effort,” said Iron County Board Member Rick Commonator. “We want local money to benefit local efforts.”

Tickets can be purchased from Wildlife Unlimited board members in each county or at select locations. Visit the WU website in your county for purchase information; http://www.wildlifeunlimiteddc.org/ for Delta County, www.wudc.org for Dickinson County and www.wluoic.org for Iron County. Prize drawings will be done on Thursday, Sept. 24, at the annual fundraising banquet for Wildlife Unlimited of Delta County in Escanaba. You do not have to be present to win.
