Lauren Sundquist

GLADSTONE — The Gladstone softball team saw success this season with just one senior on the roster, so it is perhaps fitting that youth on the team was recognized.

Recently, Braves freshman Lauren Sundquist was recognized with an All-State selection as utility player.

To be selected as utility player, the player must not play one position more than half the time, and Sundquist helped the Braves out at shortstop, first base and catcher throughout the season.

Sundquist, the leadoff batter for the team, finished the season with a .500 batting average, seven home runs, 46 hits, 27 RBIs and 22 stolen bases.
