Broncos fall to Norway

NORWAY — The Bark River-Harris boys basketball team fell into a hole in the first quarter and couldn’t dig itself out in a 62-46 loss at Norway Monday.

“We played a really solid game after the first quarter against a great team,” Broncos coach Nick Lippens said. “We had really good ball movement and played extremely hard defense after the first.”

The Knights (7-3) rushed out to a 24-8 lead after the first quarter.

“The last three quarters were the best basketball we’ve played this year,” Lippens said. “We’re getting better and better every game, and I believe we’re not particularly close to our ceiling yet.”

The Broncos (2-7) cut their deficit to 37-31 in the third quarter but couldn’t push beyond.

Anthony Miley and Trevor Lippens led the Broncos with nine points apiece.

Michael Peterson notched 24 points to lead the Knights. Alex Ortman collected 13, and Drew Anderson finished with 10.
