Wolves earn D4 All-State volleyball spots

CARNEY –While waiting to finish a playoff run might leave a sour taste in the mouths of the Carney-Nadeau volleyball team, having a teammate elected to an All-State volleyball team can hopefully assuage it somewhat.
Recently the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Associated released its selections for All-State volleyball teams, and Wolves’ senior Taylor Kedsch earned a spot on the Division 4 Third Team.
Kedsch, who was voted the Skyline Central Conference Player of the Year, helped lead the Wolves to a shot at the State Quarterfinals — where they wait — with well-rounded consistent play.
The senior outside hitter wasn’t the only Carney-Nadeau player to be honored as senior middle Liana Blahnik earned a spot in the honorable mentions.
Other U.P. nominations were Marquette junior Seiler Hruska on the Divison 1 Third Team, Calumet’s Ellie Djerf was an honorable mention in Division 3 and Cedarville’s Elysia Causely and Pickford’s Elizabeth Storey also earned Division 4 Honorable Mentions.
