MARQUETTE — The Escanaba-Bayside soccer team started its high school season Wednesday night with an exciting 2-1 win over the Marquette JV team.

The first half was scoreless thanks to some great saves by both team’s goalkeepers.

In the second half, Marquette scored the first goal, but Bayside’s Bryson Corrao soon tied the game with a great run up the field.

The winning goal was made by Daniel Dani with an assist by Caleb Basso.

Quick action by Bayside’s Luke Rice prevented Marquette from scoring again.

Bayside travels to Iron Mountain Tuesday and hosts the Marquette varsity team on the campus of Bay College Thursday.

The Bayside High School club team is made up of co-ed students from Delta, Dickinson and Iron Counties.
