Bad first half dooms Bay College men

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Bay College men’s basketball team couldn’t overcome a bad first half, falling to the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats 90-80 here Saturday.

The Norse (16-8), who lost for the first time in four games, trailed 52-28 at halftime. They trailed by as many as 30 in the second half before pulling within 79-70 with just over three minutes to play.

The Bobcats (15-9), however, hung on for the win.

Ryan Robinette had a solid performance to lead the Norse with 19 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. He and Matt Wagner each hit five 3-pointers, as Wagner continued his hot shooting to finish with 18 points. Chris Dobessi added 11 points and six rebounds, while Christian Alexander chipped in 10 points and seven boards before fouling out.

Khaleb Wilson-Rouse led the Bobcats with 23 points and five rebounds. Latik Murphy added 21 points and nine rebounds, while Luke Taylor chipped in 16 points and six boards.

The Norse shot 26 for 66 from the field and committed 17 turnovers. The Bobcats were 27 for 75, had 14 miscues and held a 57-41 rebounding advantage.

These two teams meet again Saturday at Bay College at 3 p.m.
