BR-H boys upend Gwinn
GWINN — Gwinn juniors Reid Hill and James Harnick each scored 21 points but it wasn’t enough to avert a 71-60 loss to Bark River-Harris in a game moved from Thursday night.
Four players scored in double figures for the Broncos, who kept a few points to their lead after each quarter.
“It was a close game throughout, but what hurt us was our defensive rebounding,” GHS head coach Jim Finkbeiner said. “We gave them an awful lot of second-chance opportunities.
BR-H led 18-15 after one quarter and 37-28 at halftime before Gwinn played them virturally even in the second half. The Broncos added one point in the third and fourth quarters, going ahead 49-39 after three quarters before making it a final 11-point margin.
Trenton Wood-Keshick led BR-H with 21 points, while Riley Bray added 16, Zach Robinette 13 and Nick Javurek 10.
The next highest scorer for Gwinn was David Duvall with six points as Hill led Modeltowners rebounders with eight.
The Broncos also won the JV game 34-30.
