Eichhorn third at Badger invite
ESCANABA – Hunter Eichhorn didn’t waste any time getting back into the groove for the Marquette University golf team.
Eichhorn tied for third at the Badger Invite at University Ridge in Verona, Wis. this week, helped Marquette finish fifth in the season opening tournament. Illinois State won the tournament with a minus-9, five strokes ahead of Kansas.
Eichhorn had rounds of 71-69-68 -208. He led the field by recording three eagles.
Eichhorn, a sophomore from Carney, Mich., won the U.P. Golf Association men’s championship last month and finished in the top 10 at a pair of Wisconsin amateur tournaments.
