EDITOR: I’m writing in support of two Delta County commissioners. For District 3 I support Theresa Nelson who has served her constituents since 2017. With the redistricting she now has to run against another commissioner from what is District 5. I worked in low income housing for 28 years and worked with Theresa when she worked at Community Action (for 39 years) from time to time. She was always very professional and compassionate to my residents. She takes her position on the Delta County Board seriously and votes for what will help all the people of Delta County. EDITOR: We are constituents in Theresa Nelson’s district and could not be any more proud to be represented by the best commissioner on the Delta County Board. Firstly, she has the best attendance record of not only the board meetings but also her assigned committee and city meetings. An astonishing example of this is when she was going through radiation. EDITOR: Teresa Nelson represents the citizens of District 3 on the Delta County Board of Commissioners. Currently the only woman on the board, Nelson has honorably and effectively represented District 3 since first taking office in 2017. Now Nelson is running against Bob Barron who currently represents District 5. When county board district lines were redrawn earlier this year, Barron’s residence was incorporated into District 3. Two weeks or walk?

EDITOR: The city manager works for the people of Escanaba. When I read, "I have no intention of agreeing to any changes to my contract" I read that he was told by his performance review that he hadn't performed as expected. I read that he dared the council to fire him but make sure he got his severance package. There should have been a laugh track when he said, "Then we can negotiate a new contract." Why isn't he following the contract and performing as expected? And what makes him think "If he was fired that he would even be considered for the job again? Employees without a pocket ...

EDITOR: I have known Dave Moyle for over 20 years, he served as the mayor pro term for Escanaba when my wife was mayor. There were several things that stuck out about Dave that I remember to this day, if he said he was going to do something, he did it, and he never failed once to have my wife’s back when she was mayor. Even when he called himself a Democrat, he was a staunch protector and supporter of the Second Amendment.
