Transparency
EDITOR:
After 16 months of being verbally harassed, by Kelly VanGinhoven and her supporters, I want to point out something. As many know, the recall was launched, maintained, and executed on political lines. Myself and two other commissioners were accused at every meeting of a lack of transparency, or ethics violations. In some cases even illegal activity. However nothing was brought to the police, or the prosecutors desk.
When Rory Madison and Snuffy Ettenhoffer, were removed from the parks board, I thought here we go. Commissioner VanGinhoven’s statement, “they serve at our pleasure” typifies her real feelings about people like Snuffy and Rory. But, I get it, people who get elected, either by a popular vote of the people, or a back door special election, will move on their political agendas.
The planning commission has called for the removal of Curtis Larson based on attendance issues.
Mr. Larson has had some issues with his health. I assume that will come up at the public hearing to discuss whether he should be removed or not. It’s no secret that Mr. Larson is a very liberal individual when it comes political views. So here’s my question, why was he given a public hearing when Mattson and Snuffy were given the boot? This is exactly the type of shenanigans that we were accused of, so where is the transparency?
My opponent threw a temper tantrum in 2022 when she lost. On November 9th, she began her campaign launching the county into a divisive recall that she claims was bipartisan. I maintain that no true Republican or self-respecting conservative would have anything to do with supporting that recall. But you’ll be the judge, what in the hell has Snuffy ever done to anybody other than be a good guy?
If you like Rory, or hate him, that’s your call, but he’s done more for the county parks than any five people in this county put together.
In the podcast left of Lansing, commissioner Kelly said she wants to turn Delta County blue, and called Republican voters “ignorant and uneducated”. If you support her philosophy you’ll be disappointed with a simple guy like me. Heck, I’m still clinging to my Bible and guns with antipathy.
I’m not opposed in the August 6th primary, I’ll face off with the winner of the democratic primary in November, but you need to get out and vote!
Did you know the recall cost you about $20 grand. The chairman of the board John Malnar supported it, yet he still called himself a Republican. Maybe that’s why he didn’t earn one vote during the recent GOP endorsement convention. His opponent Sandra Skiba took the convention by a unanimous vote. My intention is to see if this county moving forward, happen with the current commission. We cannot afford a liberal agenda in Delta County for four years, any more than we can afford the failed policies of Joe Biden for four more years.
