Student loans

EDITOR:

It’s hard to imagine how someone could ignore US Supreme Court rulings and think they can get away with it hoping no one will notice. Joe Biden is trying again. He promises reducing/eliminating student loan debt. No one should be surprised that Biden has no respect for the legal decisions against him by the Supreme Court decision. According to several polls he is losing the young vote, but if he cancels their debt maybe he can get (buy) them back.

Let’s expand debt forgiveness to credit cards, auto loans, mortgages, home loans, etc. What s the difference? I’ve asked this question many times and have gotten Uh and Duh and Err and Mmmm as a response (not an answer). I’ve gone into debt on things that didn’t turn out the way I hoped, so why should I continue to pay for it? Readers, can you help us out? Are there valid reasons or is he just buying votes with your money?

In his next statement, he promises Free Community College (CC) for all. Free. Yeah, that’s worth saving up for. However, the same people who will ultimately be responsible for loan repayment (the debt didn’t go away, it just shifted to others to be paid) will now be responsible through extra taxation (try to get out of that) for funding education whether the educated result benefits society or just social engineering. You won’t have a say or choice in what courses you pay for. CC’s get money from the federal government to fund certain programs. When and if the government pays for all programs they will have total control over the means of production education and its distribution – they will tell you what to take and do with that education in society. This is Socialism and it is regulated through the governmental central control process of Communism. You remember that being taught in High School Social Studies right? Question: Who decides on the curriculum in public schools now?

Affordable implies it is within your financial means. Free implies someone else pays whether they can afford it or not. If community colleges offered production-based education in welding, wiring, bending nails, the trowel trades, plumbing, etc. then we can build and repair the physical structures of our society. You should be able to affordably contribute to your education, not get it for free.

Once again Democrats, you own something you didn t have to pay for.
