Audrey J. Makie

Audrey was born on July 4, 1922 in Bessemer, Mich,, the daughter of Sidney and Elizabeth (Buzza) Stanlake. She graduated from Hurley High School. After graduation, Audrey moved to Chicago where she met the love of her life Ray Makie. They spent 68 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in November 2018.

Audrey enjoyed spending time doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and loved to dance. Later in life, she enjoyed watching game shows and learning from them.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Lynne and her husband Rudy Majestic of Gladstone, Mich., and daughter-in-law, Diane Makie.

In addition to her parents, Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Makie, son, Jeff Makie, four siblings, Frank, Viv, Gen and Bud, and two nieces and two nephews

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
