Anthony ‘Tony’ Lanaville

GERMANY — Anthony “Tony” Lanaville, 50, a former Escanaba resident, passed away on Sept. 3, 2020 at Tuebinger University Hospital in Germany with his wife and son at his side. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1989, immediately enlisted in the Army and served in Desert Storm.

He made his life in Germany with his family and lived in New Jersey for three years for his work. Occasionally coming home to the states to visit.

Survivors include his wife Haige and son Luke; his parents, Theresa Bosworth, Al and Pam Lanaville; brothers, Butch (Joanne) Lanaville, Josh Lanaville and; sister, Ginny (Brian) Taylor; stepbrothers, Bill (Amy) Cody, Bob Cody and George (Lynette) Cody; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, too many to count.

He always had a smile on his face and loved to tell a good joke. He never met anyone that didn’t become a friend. He has friends all over the globe. He was also a musician playing with two bands “Michigan Mama” and “Wandering Spirits.” He loved a shot of Jagermeister and always had everyone have one with him. So we will have a shot to salute you “Tony,” you will be greatly missed by so many who love you.

Funeral services for Tony will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. Eastern in Calw, Germany, at the Bestattungen Petra Fischinger Funeral Home. The family will also be having a memorial service for him on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion in Gladstone, Mich.

Military services will be at 12:30 and a small luncheon to follow.
