GLADSTONE — Marilyn Mae McKnight, 86, of Gladstone, and Mims, Fla., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Nov., 24, 2019. She was born to the late Nels and Irene (Viau) Bergeon on May 6, 1933.

Marilyn married the love of her life on July 12, 1952. She worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell and helped Dick with bus runs for McKnight Transportation. Together they raised eight children. Marilyn loved being a homemaker and splitting her time between Florida and Michigan. She loved having her family all together and cook up a big family dinner. With a favorite dessert to follow. Anyone who knew or loved Marilyn knows she was one in a million. She had a unique way of making everyone she came into contact with feel truly special and loved.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard, and her seven children, Dave (Bridgette) Florida, Darryl (Jill) Michigan, Dale (Kathy) Michigan, Dean (Diana) ­Michigan, Jeff (Susan) Ohio, Lisa (Phil) Florida, Rick (Lori) Florida; 23 grandchildren; and 23.5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Douglas, and many other loved ones.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 1 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church basement. Marilyn will be laid to rest in Fernwood Cemetery.
