Above, members of the Escanaba High School graduating class of 2022 listen as their commencement ceremony begins Friday night. At right, a glittery cap bearing the message “We’re not who we used to be” is worn by one of the graduating seniors. Many of the caps worn Friday were decorated with parting messages, ­declarations of hope for the future — and a college emblem or two.
