Two injured in Spread Eagle plane crash

SPREAD EAGLE — The Florence County Sheriff Office responded to a small plane crash in Spread Eagle Christmas Day.

At approximately 8:38 am on Saturday, December 25, Florence County dispatch was alerted by Dickinson County dispatch of a plane accident. Dickinson agencies received a 911 call reporting a plane crash with two occupants in the area of Menominee River Road in Spread Eagle.

Both Dickinson and Florence County dispatch were able to provide GPS coordinates to locate the scene of the crash. Numerous agencies responded from both Florence and Dickinson counties. Two people were treated by EMS units and transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital.

The investigation will be completed by the Federal Aviation Administration, Florence County officials said.
